Summer of fun in Stanley Park

Stanley Park will host two free family events this month.

On Sunday 14 August the first Stanley Park Summer Fete will take place around the Children’s Play area.

Highlights include an urban beach, art workshops, a family orienteering course, sports competitions, yoga for children and grown-ups, a farmers market and face painting

The event is free and runs from 12 Noon to 3pm and will be located near the Children’s Play Area.

On Sunday 28 August, the park will come alive with a Summer Garden Party featuring a host of entertainment for all the family; including mask-making and screenprinting workshops, face-painting and storytelling sessions, as well as live music and children’s performances on the Isla Gladstone Bandstand.

Stanley Park Liverpool CIC, is part of the Isla Gladstone’s community development work and both events have been supported by local councillors, The Beautiful Ideas Company and Mayor Joe Anderson.

Gemma McGowan, the Managing Director of the Isla Gladstone, set up the CIC this year to promote fun days, host real life social networks, sports activities for all and work to improve the local environment.

Gemma said “Stanley Park is a beautiful space in the heart of North Liverpool so we’re really excited to invite families from across the city to spend time in our brilliant park!”
